The Pacific Alliance on Disability Self-Advocacy (PADSA) project has concluded. The PADSA website will remain online. Resources produced will remain available here, on our resources page.
PADSA ran from 2013 to 2016. PADSA provided technical assistance to self advocacy groups in California, Oregon, Montana, and Washington. Technical assistance included working with a group to help them become stronger. The Pacific Alliance staff were people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We had an Advisory Council that supported our project. 75% of them were people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, too.
The Pacific Alliance assisted groups with:
- participating in trainings they need
- setting organizational goals
- putting in place a goal plan
- meeting other groups, funders, decision-makers in their states
- finding training or organizational resources they need.
PADSA was a Project of National Significance. It was through the Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AIDD). We thank AIDD for their support and funding, as well as the Oregon and Montana DD Councils.
