The Mercer County Community College Jazz Band hits Mercer area hotspots to spread the jazzy sounds of the season

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) – Get in the holiday spirit and come out to see this Mercer County Community College (MCCC) Jazz band plays the sounds of the season. Admission is free!

Led by Scott Hornick, the MCCC Jazz Band – comprised of thirteen MCCC students, faculty and special guests – will present varied and exciting shows throughout the holiday season. This year’s repertoire includes works by Wayne Shorter, Erroll Garner, George and Ira Gershwin, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Stevie Wonder, Kurt Weill, Ringo Sheena and others. All tracks feature outstanding improvisation by Mercer County Community College jazz students.

Friday 18 November at 6:30pm – Quakerbridge Mall (in front of the Cheesecake Factory entrance at 3320 US-1 in Lawrenceville) for the tree lighting and Santa’s arrival.

Wednesday, November 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.mPrinceton Market Fair at 3535 US-1.

Wednesday 7 December from 6:30pm to 8:00pm – Indoors at Quakerbridge Mall at 3320 US-1 in Lawrenceville.

Wednesday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m. – Last autumn performance at the Kelsey Theatre on the Mercer County Community College campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor. live stream available.


December is also the month for MCCC choral concerts and free symphonic music concerts

December 13 at 7:30 p.m, MCCC Faculty in conjunction with MCCC Music Club will perform at the Kelsey Theater as part of a scholarship fundraiser for music students. The event will be livestreamed and donations will be accepted both in person and online.

Free on December 21 at 7:30 p.m is the MCCC Symphonic Band led by Dr. Lou Woodruff. This show rounds out the concert series at the MCCC’s Kelsey Theatre. The 45-strong ensemble presents classics by Vivaldi, Sousa and Strauss, pop music and seasonal hits. A traditional holiday sing-along will also be orchestrated! Reservations are required.
