Mattel is collaborating with leading themed entertainment design firms on the first Mattel Adventure Park

Fans of Hot Wheels, Thomas & Friends, Barbie and other legendary American toy brands will find much fun and fanfare when Mattel Adventure Park, the first-ever Mattel-branded theme park, welcomes guests to Glendale, Arizona. The new entertainment destination brings together the talents of today’s top names in attractions, amusements and design. Slated to open in 2023 south of State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Mattel Adventure Park will highlight the full breadth of the iconic toymaker’s portfolio of brands and showcase the contributions of Mattel, Epic Resort Destinations (Epic) and other key industry innovators.

After seeing Mattel’s IPs come to life in other place-based entertainment projects, Epic knew there was an opportunity to partner and innovate with Mattel to develop premium branded attractions. To bring the vision to life, Epic went for it great 78 to support the creative orientation of the destination. Assisting with everything from interactive design to media production for the parks Thomas Adventure Train: Treasure Hunt™allowing families to talk to Thomas and friends before embarking on a journey in a real electric Thomas the Tank Engine Hot Wheels unleashed 4D ride Multimedia attraction that puts guests behind the wheel of a specially designed Hot Wheels car in an exhilarating 4D moving experience.

random trips worked with Epic to develop high-tech roller coasters and rides based on toys, from two Hot Wheels roller coasters, Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer and Hot Wheels Boneshaker: The Ultimate Ride, to an all-electric Thomas & Friends train ride. In addition, Epic decided to engage Zamperlaadding five family-friendly rides to Mattel Adventure Park’s Thomas & Friends World of Sodor™.
