Plenty of entertainment on tap at The Villages this holiday season

The holiday season is here and it means a musical journey to Broadway for Maestro Bill Doherty and his singers.

The concert is called “Broadway Showstoppers” and takes place on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Savannah Center.
The list of show tunes comes from classics like The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Les Miserables and West Side Story.

Singers include: Heather Ard, Michelle Struhar, Victoria Sexton, Scotty Thomas and Sam Reynolds. Doherty will accompany her on the piano.

Fans of Irish dance and music will enjoy “Celtic Angels Christmas” on November 27th at 4pm and 7pm at the Savannah Center.

“A Christmas Carol” will be shown on November 28 at 4 and 7 p.m. in Savannah.

In other holiday shows, Broadway veteran Alex Santoriello is bringing a cast of singers from his November 30-December stage productions for Carols By Candlelight. 3, at the Savannah Center.
The cast consists of Dawn DiNome, Mary Jo Vitale and Clark Barrios. Also performing are Lee Mueller, Linda Payne, Bobbi Steele-Marotta and Violet Ray. A donation goes to the Rotary Club of The Villages.

Clark Barrios and Mary Jo Vitale will sing Christmas carols at the Savannah Center.

The Villages Pop Chorus will be hosting their annual Christmas concert, It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, on December 5 at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at North Lake Presbyterian Church. Both performances are sold out.

John Tesh was known for his duties as a TV presenter, but the guy can sing and play the piano. He’s bringing a “Jazzy Swingin’ Christmas” to the Savannah Center on December 7 at 7 p.m.

A Wonderful Life is a TV movie staple this time of year, but those who remember the golden days of radio will rejoice.
It’s A Wonderful Life, Live From WVLG Radio will be presented December 8 at 4 and 7 p.m. at the Savannah Center. It’s basically a word performance of the classic film directed by Frank Capra.
Spoiler alert: every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings.

The Wizards of Winter is a gig for anyone who enjoys a little rock ‘n’ roll with cookies and eggnog. It’s coming to the Savannah Center on December 12 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Performers include members of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Def Leppard, Rainbow, Alice Cooper and Blue Oyster Cult.

The Sharon also features music with a festive flair, including the Villages Philharmonic Orchestra playing their “Holiday Celebration” concerts on December 18th and 19th at 7pm
