Qatari singer Fahad Al-Kubaisi will also perform at the opening ceremony. He is also a producer, model and human rights activist as the ceremony organizers are emphasizing a message of promoting dialogue about inclusion and diversity. However, according to the FIFA President Speech by Gianni Infantino on Saturdaythis is perhaps easier said than done.

“Today I feel like a Qatari, an Arab, an African, a gay man, a disabled person, a migrant worker. We have learned many lessons from Europeans and the western world. i am european For what we’ve been doing around the world for 3,000 years, we should apologize for the next 3,000 years before we give moral lessons,” Infantino said. “If Europe really cares about the fate of these people, they can use legal channels create, like Qatar did, where a number of these workers can come to Europe to work. Give them some future, some hope.”

Atlanta-based rapper Lil Baby has confirmed on Twitter that he will perform at the World Cup, but most of the opening ceremony performers will be surprises. Lil Baby won a Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance in 2022 for his feature on Kanye West’s Hurricane, and has also been honored with an XXL Award, BET Awards, and more. Since the performance of the opening ceremony usually lasts about 30 minutes, it is likely that other people will also take part in the seven-act program.

Here’s a little taste of what to expect from the opening fireworks:

Cancellations and other performance rumors

Shakira, who has been a fixture at previous World Cups, was reportedly due to perform but has opted not to attend the opening ceremony. Their song Waka Waka is firmly anchored in our memories of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Dua Lipa was also rumored to be involved, but she released a statement on Instagram.

“There is currently a lot of speculation that I will perform at the opening ceremony of the World Cup in Qatar. I will not perform and I have not been involved in negotiations to perform,” said Dua Lipa at his performance. “I will cheer England from afar and I look forward to visiting Qatar when it has fulfilled all the human rights pledges it made when it won the right to host the World Cup.”
