Kick off the holiday season in style by attending a variety of shows and entertainment this December at The MAIN, 24266 Main St., Newhall, CA 91321. From the monthly 10 x 10 Variety Night to a dance performance to comedy and art, The MAIN is the place to get into the holiday spirit.
The month begins Thursday, December 1 at 7 p.m. with the return of the free 10 x 10 Variety Night. Attendees are treated to 10 entertainers, each presenting a 10-minute performance of their choice. Audiences can be treated to storytelling, magic, improvisation, music and other forms of entertainment – no two months are alike!
On Friday 2nd December at 20:00, take a break from Christmas shopping in Newhall’s Old Town and experience ‘Movement in the MAIN: Hustling into the Holidays’. This dance night features LA Hustle and Movement, the premier source for hustle dancing in Los Angeles. The show features a diverse ensemble of dancers performing a variety of dance styles. General admission is $20 and student admission (with ID) is $15. Purchase the VIP experience for $30 and receive preferred seating, a complimentary holiday-themed soft drink, and an exclusive dance lesson to learn the basics of the Hustle.
The Society Comedy Troupe returns to The MAIN for Society Improv on Saturday 3 December at 8pm. then you already have an idea of the hilarious, high-energy comedy the troupe will be performing.
Theater in a week is back with a special holiday edition – ‘Holiday Hijinks’ – at The MAIN from December 9th to 11th. Theater in a Week features original one-act comedy written by Barry Agin, this time with outrageous humour, and delightfully wacky hilarity, perfect for the holidays. Each one-act play has a different cast, director, and story making for a must-see event. Game times are Friday, December 9 at 8 p.m., Saturday, December 10 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, December 11 at 2 p.m
Finally, discover a deep connection to art when you attend an art reception for Preserved Memories, the newest exhibition on display in The MAIN’s lobby. This installation shows how dementia affects the identity and structure of one’s being. Join artist Aazam Irilian for an evening of togetherness at The MAIN on Thursday, December 15 from 7pm to 10pm. This free reception allows the public to meet the artist, see the art and share their own stories of how dementia affects her family. Preserved Memories can be seen at The MAIN from December 6, 2022 to January 7, 2023.
