In local sport, the Shepherd 7th Grade defeated Lady Rams Morris Saratoga 13-11. Kennedy Kane had 7 points and Chloe Thrush had 4 points. The Shepherd 8th grade Lady Rams lost to Saratoga 36-26. Aslynn Ganiere had 9 points, Meredith Waldron had 6 points and Reese Purcell had 5 points. In high school girls’ baskets, the Serena Huskers lost to the Seneca Irish 41-31. Paisley Twait led with 23 points and seven rebounds for the Huskers. Kennedy Hartwig led the Irish with 16 points. Elgin defeated Earlville 51-47 in the IMSA tournament. Madyson Olson led for Earlville with 21 points. At the Falcon Irish tournament, the Marquette lost to Lady Cru Fieldcrest 50-24. Lily Craig scored 11 points in the loss for Marquette and Avery Durdan had 10 rebounds. At the tournament in Princeton, Putnam County defeated St. Bede 41-26 and Streator defeated Midland 32-31. The Ottawa Lady Pirates lost 54-28 to Peoria Notre Dame in the Prairie Central tournament. At Boys Bowling, the Ottawa Pirates defeated Kaneland Ottawa 2,733, Kaneland 2,547. Nelson Brandt led with a 570 streak and high games of 225 and 202.

(Atlanta, GA) — The Bears are looking to end their triple losing streak against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The Bears are coming off a 31-30 meltdown against the Detroit Lions that saw the team give up 21 points in the fourth quarter. Justin Fields rushed for 147 yards on two touchdowns and set a bear record for longest touchdown rush by a quarterback at 61 yards. However, the team received some bad news regarding their second-leading rusher. Khalil Herbert was put on IR with a hip injury and will be out for at least the next four weeks.

(Chicago, IL) — The cops are hoping to nab their lost carriage. Chicago hosts the Orlando Magic at the United Center tonight. The Bulls are down 14 points to the Pelicans and have lost three straight games. DeMar DeRozan led all scorers with 28 points in the loss to New Orleans, and Zach LaVine finished the game with 25 points. Coby White and Patrick Williams are both listed as doubtful to play tonight. Chicago comes in at 6-and-9.

(Boston, MA) — The Blackhawks face a big test as they take to the streets. Chicago meets the Bruins in Boston tomorrow. The Blackhawks lost 5-2 to the Blues and have lost four of their last five games. Chicago fell to 6-7-and-3 and has 15 points in the season. Patrick Kane leads the team with 11 assists and 13 goals this season. Boston leads the NHL this season with 30 points and a 15-2-0 record.
